profile.

ART + EDUCATION

My undergraduate degrees in Art Education and Graphic Design have propelled my teaching career by introducing students to art and design curricula for nearly two decades. I recently graduated from Liberty University, earning my Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with High Distinction. My graduate studies included work in design thinking, user experience (UX) design, and digital publishing.

I am a graphic designer and art teacher with a terminal degree in graphic design. During my time teaching in the classroom, I have received several recognitions, including the Arizona Middle Level Association Teacher of the Year Award and the Arizona Technology in Education Alliance Exemplary Teacher Web Design Award.

PROFICIENCY

My work in the education and design fields spans roughly two decades.
01. EDUCATION.

I have taught all grade levels in fine arts subjects, including drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic design. I am experienced with many online learning management systems and platforms, including Blackboard, GradPoint, Buzz, Moodle, and Canvas.

02. DESIGN.

I approach design work by understanding all aspects of the project and how it will serve the client. Several of my design projects include branding for businesses and organizations. It is important to me that the final product creates a meaningful connection to the mission and values behind the brand.

03. PUBLICATION.

I have designed several digital and print publications, including the text and illustration for The Workbench. My graduate thesis for my Master of Fine Arts degree at Liberty University included research on gamification and a visual solution that could motivate students to complete a skill tree by completing tasks in their online or in-person courses.
